About Me
Hi again! Let me introduce myself. I’m Jess.
I stumbled across photography like most 90’s kids did; by buying a disposable camera before going on my first school trip.
However, unlike most of my peers, I savoured those twenty something pictures; carefully thinking about how each one was going to look before I took the shot. This of course drove everyone nuts as I was always dragging behind, but it made me so happy!
Keen to start my business as soon as possible, I launched Jessie M Photography during my second year of studying photography full time at college. After ten years of professional photography experience working with photography agencies, national newspapers and magazines, corporate businesses and hundreds of families, I still feel like that schoolgirl who got giddy with excitement every time she took her disposable camera in to get developed. I have the best job in the world and I feel so lucky!
I understand how uncomfortable it can sometimes be to have your picture taken, but to me, there is nothing more mesmerising than a natural smile or laugh. My main aim is to catch the natural beauty everyone has, even just the simple glint in your eye. It may sound cheesy to some, but trust me, I see it and so does my camera. I strive to put people at ease and help them feel comfortable around me, because my main goal is to get pictures that you’re going to love.
My other love in life are animals. At home, we have two dogs, the old and wise Dougal, who pretends to be deaf until, oddly, when you say the word “treat”; the utterly mad Maisy, who could probably lick a person to death if she had the chance, and Reginald, the extremely sassy guinea pig.
When I’m not taking or editing pictures, you’ll probably find me walking through the woods, or somewhere equally stunning, or catching the odd comedy gig – I love a good laugh!
